John Nguyen, along with Mark Marrocco, founded Tightrope Interactive in 2006. As CEO he is responsible for general management and day-to-day operations of the company. John also oversees new product development and the creative services team. John has spent 6 years developing focus and leadership as a United States Marine and holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He is an optimization enthusiast, student of efficiency, and avid traveler.

John had his start in the online advertising industry as an ad trafficker at Tribal Fusion. There, he developed a fundamental understanding of online advertising theory and technology. John eventually took on the role of Performance Manager and oversaw the optimization of Tribal Fusion’s direct response network totaling $24mm/year.
Mark Marrocco
Prior to launching Tightrope Interactive, Mark was the Director of Ad Sales at Full Tango, a subsidiary of Exponential Interactive, where he chartered and managed ongoing strategic relationships with Exponential’s premier direct-response partners including MIVA Direct, IAC/InterActiveCorp, and The University of Phoenix. Before leading the sales efforts of their performance division, Mark was an Advertising Sales Manager at Exponential’s premium ad network, Tribal Fusion. In this role, Mark initiated first contact and established working relationships with several key national interactive advertising agencies including Starcom IP, Carat Fusion, OMD, and Campell-Ewald.

Prior to joining Tribal Fusion, Mark was a Senior Business Development Manager at Everyone.net. While there, Mark was responsible for managing the team that built out an advertising network of over a thousand, high quality, high traffic partner sites that reached over 75 million unique U.S. internet users monthly.
Mark began his sales and business development career in 1997 in the data capture/collection industry as a Sales Representative at Sidco Labeling Systems where he served as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies. He graduated from San Jose State University with a Major in Industrial Psychology and a Minor in Business.
Dave McCarthy
Prior to joining Tightrope, Dave was the SVP/GM of Advertising at MIVA and was responsible for the company’s online media planning and buying, overseeing a budget of more than $9MM/quarter. In addition, Dave was responsible for MIVA Direct’s consumer web properties. Dave was the founder of Spill.com and was in charge of all sales for MIVA Direct. Under his stewardship, MIVA Direct’s advertising revenues grew from under 10 percent to over 30 percent of MIVA’s total business in just three years and the total revenue generated by the group grew from $7 million to $52 million annually. This revenue growth was a direct result of a comprehensive strategy which Dave implemented when he arrived at MIVA in 2004 as the company’s first Director of Advertising.

Prior to joining MIVA, Dave was at Sandbox.com as East Coast Sales Manager. Sandbox.com was one of the pioneers of online fantasy sports and, while there, Dave billed over $7 million in ad sales with key clients Ford, Lipton, AT&T and Playboy.
Dave began his media career in 1998 as a media buyer at J. Walter Thompson for the $350 million dollar Warner Lambert account. He Graduated from SUNY Albany in 1997 with a Major in English and Minor in Business. Dave is an avid skier, a lover of music, a diehard Yankee fan and a married Father of two Sons, Trajan and Lincoln.
Dinggang Xu
Dinggang is responsible for Tightrope Interactive’s software engineering and operations. Prior to Tightrope Interactive, Dinggang was Engineering Director at LeadGenuity, a subsidiary of Exponential Interactive, where he led an engineering team responsible for lead generation projects and also worked on domain-specific contextual advertising engine.

Dinggang received his B.E. in Engineering Mechanics and Computer Applications from Tsinghua University, and his M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
In his spare time, Dinggang likes to answer questions in forums. He enjoys playing bridge and other card games, hiking and volunteer work.
Dan Rabin
Dan is responsible for the growth and development of Tightrope’s agency clients and brings over 8 years of online marketing experience to Tightrope Interactive. Prior to joining Tightrope, Dan was VP of Media Services at Optio Interactive where he was responsible for the success of both brand and direct marketing clients. Dan brings a wealth of knowledge to Tightrope from client service and campaign management, to analytics and optimization.

An avid outdoorsman and political junkie, Dan currently lives in San Francisco with his wife. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon with degrees in Political Science and Marketing.
Franco Yuvienco
Franco brings over 15 years of software development and management experience to Tightrope Interactive from a variety of high tech companies. He led the way for the launch of SecretSanta.comTM (the free, online gift exchange event planner) and architected its patent pending RIDDLETM algorithm. Most recently, his roles include being the Chief Technology Officer of FlavorizeTM (an intelligent search and recommendation system for food), as well as Chief Technology Officer for MetricMesh (a next-gen, cross-device, behavioral targeting platform).

Prior to MetricMesh, Franco was Vice President of Product Development for John Q Media and also served as a Director of Engineering for Miva Direct, responsible for the design and development of several large-scale, server-side and client-side applications. Franco came to Miva through the acquisition of Comet Systems, where he worked as the development director for server-side technology initiatives and played an instrumental role in the due diligence process leading to the acquisition of Comet in 2004.
Before joining Comet Systems, Franco was the Director of Server-Side Software Engineering for CyberTel, Inc. principally involved in the creation of CyberTel’s Pure-Play-IP telecommunications software architecture, and received several accolades for successfully designing, developing, and patenting their message synchronization technology (PureSync) – consolidating and synchronizing voice, e-mail, fax, and SMS messages. Additionally, Franco has held leadership roles at AT&T/Bell Labs and New World Technologies, and has maintained representative positions in a variety of technology organizations and consortia, as well as several board seats in a variety of high tech companies.
Being both a visionary and engineer, Franco studied Architecture at the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at Cooper Union, and graduated from New York University for Computer Science. During his days in Architecture, Franco helped to design several international hotels and resorts, and continues to engage in architecture as a hobby.
